NEW ZEALAND TOUR

 In Uncategorized

Can’t wait to visit my homeland and share my latest book, BONO THE RESCUE CAT, with new and old friends

I’ll be travelling South and North Islands over two weeks, and hope to catch up with you along the way.

Glamorous highlights will be bubbles and High Tea events hosted by the Australian Women’s Weekly NZ in Wellington and Auckland.

Click here to get a rundown of my itinerary.

Thursday 11 October Emma’s at Oxford
6.30-9pm
Oxford Workingman’s Club,
160 High Street,
Oxford.

I love this South Island town, and Emma is one of my favourite booksellers. We had a fantastic turnout last time. I’m looking forward to catching up with more Mainlanders at this event. Tickets available through Emma’s at Oxford’s Facebook page.

Friday 12 October CatnapCafé
5.30 pm, 391 Colombo Street, Sydenham, Christchurch.

People say Christchurch’s new cafe is the cat’s whiskers. I’ll be shaking paws and signing books.

Sunday 14 October NELSON ARTS FESTIVAL EVENT
Granary Festival Café, Founders Heritage Park, 3.30-4.30pm

One-on-one ‘in conversation’ with Jacquetta Bell  http://www.nelsonartsfestival.co.nz/home/helens-brown-bono/

Tuesday 16 October Wellington Library
6.30-7.30pm
I’ll be giving a brief chat followed by a reading.

Thursday 18 October AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S WEEKLY EVENT
1.30 -3pm
Afternoon Tea with Helen Brown
In-conversation with Michele Crawshaw,
editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly

Back in Wellington, where my cat stories began, it’s bound to be an emotional occasion. Put on your glitter shoes. We’ll make a toast everything about the fabulousness of being alive. For more info and tickets go to:

Saturday 20 October HAWKES BAY WRITERS FESTIVAL
10-11am
MTG Century Theatre, Napier.
I’ll be chatting with Jessica Soutar Barron about how a scruffy cat called Bono helped me find my way home.

Wednesday 24 October  NEW PLYMOUTH
11.20    New Plymouth Girls High School visit.
I’ll be meeting students at my old school, telling them how a straight C student can get to be a New York Times best seller.

5.30pm    Poppies Bookshop, 7 King Street, New Plymouth.
Must remember to pack tissues in my handbag. It’s always very moving meeting people I grew up with, along with their friends and families.

Thursday October 25 AUCKLAND
1.30-3pm AUSTRALIAN WOMEN’S WEEKLY EVENT
Afternoon Tea with Helen Brown
In-conversation with Michele Crawshaw,
editor of the Australian Women’s Weekly
Venue – Stamford Plaza

I’ll always love Auckland for embracing a solo mum with a cat and an urge to scribble. If you live in Hamilton or Whangarei, bring friends along and make a day of it. This will be a fantastic occasion. Laughter, bubbles and goody bags, too.

www.magshop.co.nz/AWWhightea.

6pm.
Poppies Bookshop
83 Picton Street
Howick.

Book signing and chat before I head back across The Ditch to a very disgruntled cat.
